A classic is always a classic! A Rado’s identity has always been its unique Diastar face design. Hundreds of knockouts tried their hand at replicating this designing just to give the customer a feel that they are wearing a Rado. Every kid in the 80’s who grew up seeing an expensive brand in watches would recognise the noticeably fashionable dial with its wide-border metal finish making it a distinctive piece of art. The first of its kind came out in the 60’s and was soon after referred to as “The Originals”, surely for a reason as the name suggests.
I made this buy just over a year ago and was waiting until now for a good moment to share my experience on this piece. A very happy investment indeed ! A Rado experience is surely a recommended buy for every collector. And when it comes to the original Diastar, the standout feel of wearing one in a crowd can never be comprehended by another watch. This is a very different piece in comparison to the modern era designs from the Swatch group.
The body of this watch is extremely strong and durable. Adding to these features is its scratch-free metallic dial with Sapphire crystal display. The 38 mm diameter with the combination of its rounded metallic design gives it a fully dressed up look to your wrist. A piece like the Diastar Automatic lets you wear it with any of your attires; be it casual, formal or even a fun evening at the club. The modern designs in a Diastar comes in various dial colours now giving the buyer a variety of choices to match the watch to ones skin tone to clothing to fashion etc.
Rado is an above average priced possession, making it a solitary collector’s buy. If you enjoy the classics and prefer wearing a watch that catches attention raising curiosity in peoples mind whether its that rare classic in your hand, then this is the right investment for you. I have also realised that this is perhaps the only watch that I regularly use as a spare to go, when I travel. To improve the brand experience, Rado has kindly thrown in a Brilliant travel case along with the Diastar in their boxing which can be used for safely transporting any watches of your choice.
And I sum up… my personal experience with this watch is that I never have to worry about the attire that I am wearing it with or think twice about having my Diastar on for any event that I attend no matter what the occasion is.
